Balloon-Like Kitten Zoe Recovers After Air Trapped Under Skin

A Tortoiseshell kitten named Zoe arrived at Palm Springs Animal Shelter looking unusually puffy, as if she had been inflated. Veterinarian Dr. Phil Caldwell diagnosed her with subcutaneous emphysema, a condition where air gets trapped beneath the skin. The team carefully removed the trapped air with a syringe, and Zoe’s swelling quickly subsided.
