Hi, I’m Amanda! I share how my Himalayan-Persian cat Blue spends her time alone in our home.

Blue’s Routine

Blue checks each room to confirm it’s empty. She walks through the bedrooms, bathrooms, and living room, mentally ticking off each area. After confirming no humans are present, she looks at the front and back doors to make sure the house is truly free of people.

She then searches for a sunny spot on the floor. If she finds one, she stretches into it and settles in for a nap. When she wakes, she checks her bowl, which is often empty because we forget to fill it before leaving.

Blue likes to chew her nails occasionally, and she will gnaw on anything she can find. This leads to a grooming session where she cleans her coat and then lies on the living-room floor, eyeing a toy that’s just out of reach. She quickly swats the toy away to end the staring contest.

Blue is predictable and does not knock things down, claw at belongings, or seek extra food. The only mischief she once did was sneak into the crawl space for a few reckless wee.

If she hears the garage door, she will make her way to the door to greet us.
