Purina’s New Litter Crime Show Tackles Odor, Tracking and Clumping
Purina’s Tidy Cats brand has launched a three-part crime-procedural series called the Special Litter Unit (S.L.U.) starring comedian Kumail Nanjiani. The first episode premiered on October 1 across Tidy Cats’ Instagram, TikTok and YouTube channels and follows Nanjiani and rookie officer Jordan Howlett as they investigate common litter-box offenses such as odor, tracking and clumping.
The series highlights Tidy Cats’ Performance+ litter line, which contains three formulas aimed at different concerns. Active Clean neutralizes bacterial odors at their source, Power Clump creates strong clumps with minimal sticking, and Tidy Feet uses flat granules to reduce litter that rolls out of the box, offering 64 percent less tracking than leading clumping litters.
In addition to the online campaign, a one-day event called Litter Crimes HQ opened in New York City on October 2 at 45Grand in SoHo. Visitors could try out interactive missions and meet adoptable cats from Petfinder that joined the fictional investigation.
