Tiny Kitten Finds Home After Airport Rescue

A 3-week-old orange kitten wandered alone outside Terminal 1 at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. Minnesota traveler Virgil Wiebe, who had missed a connecting flight, spotted the kitten near a small park and decided to help.
The kitten had no visible mother or other kittens nearby, and TSA agents had never seen a stray at the airport. They advised that a kennel was required. Wiebe arranged for a kennel and kitten formula to be delivered via DoorDash, allowing the kitten to be transported safely.
United Airlines added the kitten to Wiebe’s reservation for a fee of $150, enabling the animal to travel with him to Minnesota. Once home, the kitten was named Macanudo O’Hare, after the cigar brand and the airport, with a shorter everyday name of Harry. The family reports that Harry has brought happiness into their lives, though his early circumstances remain a mystery.
