Arizona Golden Rescue

Arizona Golden Rescue (AGR) is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to rescuing displaced Golden Retrievers and mostly-Golden mixes who have been abused, abandoned, neglected, unwanted, or surrendered by their owners. Every dog that comes through AGR receives a complete veterinary exam, updated vaccinations, microchipping, spay or neuter surgery, and testing for Valley Fever and heartworm, and AGR covers the cost of medications and necessary surgeries as part of each dog's medical and emotional rehabilitation. AGR is a "non-shelter rescue," meaning all dogs stay in foster homes, either regular foster or "foster with intent to adopt," until they're placed in a permanent home. Anyone interested in fostering must submit an application and complete a home evaluation. Through public education, AGR also works to inform people about the Golden Retriever breed and responsible dog ownership. The organization is a proud partner of the Phoenix Animal Care Coalition and holds regular community fundraising events throughout the year.
