The open-intake county shelter for Pima County and the largest shelter in southern Arizona. Alongside standard adoptions it runs a Working Cats program placing cats who are not suited to indoor pet life into barns, warehouses and similar settings. Every adopted pet is microchipped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and comes with a free vet visit.
Kittens under 4 months $50. Adult cats are currently free, and the fee is waived for pets over 5 years old or waiting more than two weeks.

Enter through the adoptions lobby, the first double doors on the left in the main breezeway, and browse available pets. Sign into the waitlist, meet with an adoption counselor who reviews the pet details and brings the cat out to meet you, then complete the paperwork.
