Save a Stray Foundation

Save a Stray Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in 2015 to reduce the overpopulation of stray and feral cats throughout Maricopa County, Arizona. Founder Sue Harrington had already been trapping, neutering, and returning free-roaming cats on her own since 2005 before starting the organization, and since then she and other volunteers have TNR'd hundreds of cats, placing adoptable cats and kittens into homes through partner adoption organizations while returning ferals to their colonies, where volunteers provide ongoing food and water. The foundation also helps individuals, homeowners associations, businesses, and mobile home parks set up their own cat management programs, offering information, training, and help coordinating clinic appointments, along with educational brochures and speakers for the community. Save a Stray Foundation is always looking for volunteers to help with trapping, pre-veterinary care, transportation to the clinic, and returning cats to their colonies after surgery.
