Tucson Cold Wet Noses Fosters, Inc. is a 501(c)3 dog rescue that has served Tucson, Arizona since 2006, focused on rescuing vulnerable dogs from local shelters, including PACC, MCACC, PCACC, and the Arizona Humane Society. Around 2017, the rescue shifted its focus specifically to senior, medically fragile, and hospice dogs who have been placed on medical or euthanasia lists at partner shelters. At any given time, roughly 100 dogs are in the organization's care, living with approved foster families throughout the Tucson area, where many are treated for age-related conditions like arthritis and vision loss, or more serious issues like diabetes, epilepsy, heart problems, Valley Fever, or cancer. While some dogs go on to be adopted, many enter hospice care and are lovingly supported until the end of their lives. Tucson Cold Wet Noses does not take dogs in from the public, only from partner shelters, and it only adopts to residents 21 or older in Tucson and the surrounding areas of Sahuarita, Marana, Oro Valley, and Catalina. The adoption fee is $275, plus an $11 or $21 licensing fee depending on the dog's shelter of origin.
