A Cat's Tale is an all-volunteer, no-kill feline rescue in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. Darla and Elizabeth Cotton applied for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status and, with volunteers, have saved hundreds of cats and a few dogs. The group also provides sanctuary for long-term feline residents with special needs. It joined a coalition led by Best Friends Animal Society that aimed to make Los Angeles a no-kill city for homeless pets by 2017.
Cats are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV, vaccinated, and microchipped; a free vet visit is included.
Application/interview, sometimes with a home visit. Currently by appointment only.
Kittens are $125, and cats 2-5 years old are $100.
