Connecticut Cat Connection (CCC) was started from a one person rescue in the 80's by taking in one stray at a time, to working with other rescue organizations in the 2000's, to expanding to its own organization under the name Cat Haven in 2003. Due to the increasing need to help more cats and the expense associated with any animal rescue, in 2007 the organization became a non-profit and officially changed its name to Connecticut Cat Connection. Run entirely by volunteers and funded by individual contributions and fundraising events throughout the year, Connecticut Cat Connection is the definition of a Non-Profit.

Submit an application and pass the rescue's screening. Kittens and teenagers through 12 months must be adopted in pairs unless another suitable animal already lives in the home. The adopter must be present with valid government photo ID; renters should bring their lease. Cats are not adopted as gifts, and a sturdy carrier is required at pickup.
Submit the online application and wait for an adoption coordinator's review, which may take several days to two weeks. Once approved, visit the shelter or arrange a foster-home kitten meeting, select a compatible cat, pay the fee, and complete the adoption. Approved cats may sometimes go home the same day.
