Backdoor Friends Purebred Cat Rescue is a nonprofit, no-kill rescue serving the Midwest, particularly Southeast Michigan. It has no shelter and receives no government support. When foster space permits, it accepts abandoned, displaced and owner-relinquished purebred cats. Cats receive veterinary examinations, vaccinations, spay/neuter, FIV/FeLV testing, deworming, dental checks and treatment as recommended. Matted long-haired cats are also groomed.
Adopters must be 21+; renters need landlord approval and a signed contract; cats must be kept strictly indoors; landlord and vet references required.
Submit an application by email or website, board members review it, then a private viewing is scheduled; on approval, sign a contract, pay the fee (cash/check only) and arrange pickup.

Kittens (6 months and under) are $175 for one or $300 for two; adults under 10 are $150 (or $250 for two); seniors 10+ are $100.
