Founded in 2007, Paws for Life Rescue is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit foster-based rescue operating in southeast Michigan. They rescue cats, kittens, and dogs from overflowing area shelters, providing medical care, foster placement, adoption, and community cat TNR support. In 2025, the organization has shifted primary focus toward raising funds for the medical care of pets in need while continuing their commitment to force-free and fear-free animal welfare.
Adult Cats: $75 (or $110 for a pair); Kittens (6 months and younger): $125 (or $200 for a pair). Includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, and 30 days of pet insurance.
Adopters must be at least 18 years old. Cats must remain indoors (with exceptions only for working barn or unsocialized community cats) and must not be declawed (subject to an enforced $1,000 contract fine). All household members must participate in the meet-and-greet, and adopters must complete a mandatory two-week adjustment period.
1. Understand adoption policies. 2. Submit an online adoption application. 3. Adoptions counselor conducts a phone consultation to discuss household match. 4. Meet-and-greet is scheduled at the home, an area shelter, or an adoption event with all household members present. 5. Two-week mandatory adjustment period begins before adoption is finalized.
