Founded by Kim Kelly and established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2018, Cast Aside to Survive Inc (C.A.T.S.) is dedicated to ending the cycle of street cat reproduction in Saugerties, NY, and surrounding areas. The all-volunteer rescue focuses on Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR), free courtesy neutering for pet cats, and rescuing viable kittens and pregnant cats for foster care, socialization, and adoption.
Approved adoption application, payment of adoption fee to place kittens over 8 weeks on hold, binding adoption contract, and a mandatory veterinary appointment within 4 days of adoption.
Submit an adoption application online. Once approved, kittens over 8 weeks can be placed on hold with a paid adoption fee. Kittens are spayed/neutered and given rabies vaccines once they reach 3 pounds, recuperate for 2 days post-op, and must have a vet appointment scheduled within 4 days of adoption before signing the binding contract.
The organization accepts voluntary kitten surrenders through an Intake form located on their Services page; the organization is not held liable for claims regarding voluntary surrender.
