Founded in 2009, Ruff House Rescue Inc is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer-based animal welfare organization based in Long Island, New York. Dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats from high-kill rural shelters, the rescue houses animals across private kennel facilities and a network of foster homes. Through adoption events, foster care, and community outreach, they strive to eliminate euthanasia of adoptable pets and make adoption the standard.

Applicants must complete an application, participate in a telephone interview and an informal home visit (in person or by video), and arrange a meet and greet with existing pets. Adopters must visit the facility in person and supply an identification tag with contact details. A $10 kitten collar or $30 puppy package is also required.
