Zion’s Mission Animal Rescue is a foster-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving the New York City area. Dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and caring for abandoned, senior, and hospice animals, they provide adoption and foster opportunities for both dogs and cats. Operating without a physical shelter, they rely entirely on dedicated foster homes and community donations to give companion animals a second chance.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and live within a two-hour driving distance from Queens, NY (generally New York City, Long Island, and New Jersey). Applicants must agree to reference checks and a mandatory home visit. Individuals with convictions for animal abuse or domestic violence, or those residing in temporary housing/shelters, are not eligible.
To adopt, applicants must submit an adoption survey which is reviewed within 1–2 weeks. The approval process includes reference checks (two references required) and a home visit before scheduling meet-and-greets.
