Flopsy's Friends Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue organization founded in 2024 by three longtime fosters in honor of a rescue cat named Flopsy. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, the foundation focuses on rescuing animals most at risk, including those facing euthanasia, individuals with special medical needs, fearful or unsocialized animals, and ferals. Operating through a volunteer foster network, they provide critical medical care, patience, and compassion to match vulnerable pets with permanent homes.
Completion of an adoption interest form and application, personal references, veterinary reference check, and a home visit.
Interested adopters first complete an online adoption interest form. Once an animal is matched, a meet and greet is scheduled at the foster home, an adoption event, or a community venue. Next, adopters complete an adoption application, undergo veterinary and personal reference checks, and complete a home visit. Approved adopters have a 48-hour cool-off period before welcoming their pet home.
Flopsy's Friends Foundation is currently closed to general intakes and recommends contacting local humane societies or animal shelters, but can provide resources for special needs animals via their contact form.
