Founded in 1976, PAWS Ohio (Public Animal Welfare Society) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill foster-based rescue dedicated to rescuing, treating, and rehoming companion cats and dogs throughout Northeastern Ohio. Operating through a dedicated network of foster homes and PetSmart adoption centers rather than a physical facility, they provide comprehensive veterinary care, spay/neuter services, and loving placement for animals in need. They also actively champion animal welfare legislation, including spearheading Ohio's Goddard's Law.

Surrendering a cat

PAWS Ohio generally does not foster or take in home-owned animals, with very rare exceptions for extreme situations such as terminal illness or death of an owner. However, they offer free courtesy postings on their website for spayed/neutered pets needing rehoming.
