Founded in 1993, Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary is a volunteer-driven, no-kill, cage-free rescue dedicated to improving the lives of homeless and abused cats and dogs in the Sacramento area. The organization nurtures rescued animals at the Patricia L. Holmes Adoption Center and provides comprehensive medical rehabilitation before placing them into loving homes. Additionally, Happy Tails supports the community through an extensive feral cat Trap-Neuter-Return program and assistance initiatives for low-income, elderly, or homeless pet owners.
Adopters can meet adoptable pets at the cage-free adoption center, complete the adoption process, and receive ongoing post-adoption advice and support from the rescue team.
Happy Tails offers animal surrender and rehoming resources, and guarantees that any animal adopted from their care can be returned, no questions asked.
