Final Option Sanctuary Team Emergency Rescue, Inc. (F.O.S.T.E.R., Inc.) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving the Greater Portland metro area and the Pacific Northwest within a two-hour drive of Portland, Oregon. Primarily focusing on cats, the organization assists animals at extreme risk with foster care, hospice foster placements, feral kitten socialization, and guidance on critical medical needs such as FIP and FIV palliative care. They work with foster families and partner rescues to ensure pets are fully vetted, fixed, and placed into loving homes.
All pets helped into homes must be spayed or neutered prior to placement. In almost all cases, animals must be microchipped and vaccinated, and cats are SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV if there is a question of exposure.
