Northwest Animal Companions is an animal welfare organization in Portland, Oregon, taking in homeless cats and dogs and placing them in adoptive homes. This organization does not publish a public street address, which is typical of foster-based rescues, so contact them to arrange a meeting with a cat.
Call (503) 285-0656 for current adoption fees.
Submit an adoption application online; the team responds to applicants within about three business days. All fees are listed on the website and always include spay/neuter and veterinary care.
Estimated by applying the AVMA's 2024 national cat-ownership rate (32.1% of households) to the county's real household count from the Census Bureau. It is a national rate applied locally, not a local survey. Population and housing figures are from the Census Bureau's American Community Survey.
By appointment only.
Contact Northwest Animal Companions at (503) 285-0656 or info@nwac-oregon.org to ask about surrendering a cat. Intake policies change with shelter capacity, so check before bringing an animal in.
