Friends of the Providence Animal Care & Control Center is a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer nonprofit organization established in 2011 to support the Providence Animal Shelter. The organization raises vital funds for medical procedures, behavioral enrichment, shelter improvements, and adoption programs for homeless dogs and cats in Providence. Working in partnership with the municipal shelter, they help foster the humane care of animals and prepare them for loving homes.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age (with parental permission if living with parents), provide proof of homeownership (utility bill or property tax statement) or landlord permission (notarized letter/lease agreement) if renting, and undergo approval based on ownership history and current resident pet vaccination/spay/neuter status.
Find an adoptable animal in person or on PetFinder, submit an adoption application either in person or online, meet with the animal by appointment, and upon approval, sign the adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee.
Returns of adopted animals are accepted regardless of how long the pet has been owned.
