Pet Placement Center (operated by TN Humane Animal League / Animal Support and Placement Rescue Inc) is a private 501(c)(3) adoption agency and Chattanooga's oldest no-kill animal shelter. Its mission is to reduce animal suffering by finding responsible homes for animals in need, promoting spay and neuter procedures, and emphasizing humane care through education and example.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a picture ID upon request, provide a functional source of communication, spend time with the animal beforehand, and complete a dog-to-dog meet and greet if adopting a dog into a home with existing dogs.
Submit a completed adoption application online or in person. Applications take 1-2 business days to process (excluding Mondays and Tuesdays; no same-day applications). Once approved, spend time meeting the animal prior to finalizing the adoption.
Assistance is offered through their Surrender or rehome a pet program as well as Trap-Neuter-Return services.
