Formed in January 1996, Shelter Animals Rescue Group (SARG) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing animals from the Oak Ridge Animal Shelter and surrounding areas. Operating through a network of volunteer foster homes, SARG works to reduce unwanted animal populations and place rescued dogs and cats into loving, responsible homes while supporting community pet food distributions, spay/neuter assistance, and animal welfare outreach.
$150
Adopters must be responsible adults keeping animals as household pets (not guard/hunting dogs or surprise gifts), ensure adequate exercise provisions, have all family members agree, keep puppies/kittens 6+ months or older if children under 6 reside in the home, agree not to declaw cats, and provide one week's notice if an animal ever needs to be returned.
Prospective adopters submit an online or printable adoption application, undergo application review and verification, and if approved, complete an adoption contract. Because animals live in private foster homes, meet-and-greets are arranged by appointment.
SARG houses animals in private foster homes with limited capacity and is unable to accept animal surrenders from the general public.
