Braveheart Animal Volunteers is a volunteer-run rescue group based in Ravenna, Texas, serving Fannin and Grayson counties. The organization provides vital medical care, foster placement, and adoption services for abandoned and homeless cats and dogs, partnering with local adoption centers like PetSmart to find permanent homes.
Adoption fees vary by animal and help cover veterinary care, vaccinations, and spay/neuter procedures.
Prospective adopters must submit an application with personal and veterinary references, demonstrate ability to provide appropriate ongoing care, and complete an approval process including a home check.
Interested adopters begin by submitting an adoption questionnaire or contacting the rescue directly. Applications undergo a background screening and review, followed by coordination for a meet-and-greet or home visit prior to final placement.
Rescued cats and kittens receive veterinary examinations, age-appropriate vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgeries prior to final adoption.
Because Braveheart operates through a network of foster homes, meet-and-greets are scheduled by appointment with approved applicants, and cats are also showcased through adoption partner locations such as the Sherman PetSmart.
Donations can be sent directly via PayPal at paypal.me/bavbraveheart or directed through their partner veterinary clinics to support medical care.
Surrender requests depend on available foster capacity and intake resources; individuals needing rehoming assistance should contact the organization directly via email.
