Dripping Spgs, TX
Central Texas SPCA (transitioning to Central Texas Tails of Hope) is a non-profit adoption center based in Leander, Texas, dedicated to rescuing cats and dogs at risk of euthanasia from high-kill rural shelters. Providing personalized, force-free care in spacious indoor condos, the organization rehabilitates companion animals and matches them with loving families across Central Texas.
Adult Cats (6 months and older): $50; Kittens (under 6 months): $95
Adopters generally must reside in the Central Texas area. Requirements include filling out an application, providing veterinary history verifying vaccinations and preventative care for current/past pets, providing 3 references (2 non-family personal references and 1 veterinary reference, or 3 non-family references if no pets), and having all household members meet the pet.
Adoptions are not same-day and applications are not approved on a first-come, first-served basis, but matched based on the best fit for the animal. Applicants must complete a screening application, submit references, and schedule an appointment to meet the animal at the shelter. Review and reference checks can take up to a week.
Central Texas SPCA is not a public drop-off facility and does not accept stray animals or owner surrenders; all animals are pulled directly from high-kill rural shelters. Found strays should be routed through local animal control authorities such as the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter.
