Texas Panhandle Pet Savers is a volunteer-run non-profit rescue dedicated to reducing euthanasia rates in the Amarillo and Texas Panhandle area by rescuing cats and dogs from animal control, hoarding situations, and abuse. Rather than operating a traditional shelter facility, pets are nurtured in foster homes and housed in a Petco Cat Condo until placed in permanent homes. They provide full veterinary vetting, spay/neuter procedures, and showcase adoptable cats at weekly adoption events.
Cats: $85 (includes all shots, rabies vaccination, deworming, spay/neuter, and microchip); Puppies and Adult Dogs: $150
All pets are required to be spayed or neutered to help control the pet population.
Interested adopters can view pets on Facebook, submit an inquiry or adoption form via the website, or visit weekly adoption events held every Saturday from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Petco (I-40 and Western St. in Amarillo) to meet the animals.
The organization assists with rescuing animals from animal control, abusive homes, or hoarding situations, though direct public surrender policies are not explicitly detailed.
