Montague, TX
Montague County Animal Rescue (MCares) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to rescuing abandoned and neglected dogs and cats across Montague County, Texas. Working alongside county officials to operate a no-kill shelter, they provide critical medical care, spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchipping prior to placement. MCares also works to build community pet-retention services and a strong TNR program for feral cats.
$125.00 (covers vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, and preventive treatments)
Adopters must be at least 18 years old and capable of providing proper food, water, safe shelter, veterinary care, and humane treatment. MCares typically does not adopt out to homes where animals live primarily outdoors.
Prospective adopters can submit an adoption application online. Following an evaluation and medical preparation period, animals are placed into permanent homes.
The organization provides community support services aimed at helping pet owners keep their pets at home instead of having to rehome them.
