Jackson Day Foundation (operating Jackson Day Animal Rescue) is an all-volunteer, foster-based animal rescue serving Hurricane Valley and the greater St. George area in Southern Utah. The organization pulls cats, kittens, and dogs from overcrowded local municipal shelters, provides comprehensive foster and medical care, and showcases adoptable cats at PetSmart in St. George.
Cats / kittens: $65 to $115 (discounts offered for multiple animals; includes spay/neuter, microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines)
Focus is on local adoptions in the St. George and Hurricane Valley areas. Applicants must verify home ownership via county records or provide proof pets are allowed if renting, commit to caring for the animal for its 15–20 year lifespan, and are encouraged to be 24 years of age or older.
Prospective adopters must submit an online adoption application, with the review process taking approximately 1–2 days depending on application completeness and reference checks. Adoptable cats can be visited in person at PetSmart in St. George after an online application is completed.
Under certain circumstances, owner surrenders are accepted after contacting the rescue to discuss the situation, with a requested minimum donation of $50 upon intake. Stray animals are not accepted and must be taken to municipal shelters to allow owners to reclaim them.
