VETerinary Efforts in Giving to Animals (VETEGA) is a volunteer-run non-profit founded in 2005 to help injured and ownerless animals across Lamoille County, Vermont. Through a partnership with Lamoille Valley Veterinary Services, the organization provides funding for veterinary medical and surgical care, places stray cats into adoptive homes, and accepts owner-surrendered cats in circumstances preventing unnecessary euthanasia. They also provide emergency medical grants of up to $500 for local pet owners facing proven financial hardship.
Cats ready for adoption are placed into homes through a partnership with Lamoille Valley Veterinary Services (LVVS).
