Adopting

Fees, requirements & process

Requirements

All household members must agree to the adoption, and the applicant must be 18 years or older. Landlord approval is required if renting. All adopted animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to release.

How it works

Potential adopters can view available pets on Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet, then request and submit an adoption application by emailing adoptions@nwkare.org. Once the application is reviewed, applicants participate in a meet-and-greet and a home visit before finalizing the adoption.
