Based in Kitsap County, Washington, Kitsap Animal Rescue & Education (KARE) is a volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to animal welfare education, shelter support, and rescue services. They partner with overcrowded shelters to rescue, socialize, and rehome at-risk pets, including cats and dogs, into permanent homes.
All household members must agree to the adoption, and the applicant must be 18 years or older. Landlord approval is required if renting. All adopted animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to release.
Potential adopters can view available pets on Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet, then request and submit an adoption application by emailing adoptions@nwkare.org. Once the application is reviewed, applicants participate in a meet-and-greet and a home visit before finalizing the adoption.
