A mother cat named Jaga was found zipped inside a carrier in an Atlanta park with five newborn kittens beside her. A Good Samaritan alerted Catz 4 Life, which was already full but accepted the family. The Cat Doctor Atlanta clinic took the cat and kittens in overnight, and Jaga was placed in foster care.

In foster care, Jaga naturally cared for the five kittens, nicknamed the Thundercats, nursing and grooming them until each found a home. When another litter of four orphaned kittens appeared, Jaga again stepped in, taking them in as the Guardians of the Galaxy. She raised all nine kittens, and every one was adopted.

After the nine kittens were adopted, Jaga settled into a quieter life in the foster home, enjoying a child-free existence. She is described as long, lean, elegant, and easy-going, with a calm, affectionate nature.
