The 2026 Steve Dale EveryCat Health Foundation Communications Award is open for nominations. The award recognizes individuals who communicate cat health and behavior through media, podcasts, or public speaking.

How to Nominate

• Submit a nomination by September 4th, 2026. There is no fee and self-nominations are accepted. Provide a description of the nominee’s work and attach three to five examples such as online content, podcasts, or presentations. The nomination form can be accessed via the provided link.
• The award winner will be announced in November and presented in person at the Cat Writers’ Association meeting in Dallas, or via a Zoom call if travel is not possible. The winner will also appear in the EveryCat newsletter and may have their work shared on the EveryCat website.

• The award is presented annually to a person who supports communication about cat health and/or behavior in traditional media, social media, podcasting, or public speaking. The winner promotes and/or educates about cat health and behavior to improve the human-cat bond and welfare across various outlets, including newspapers, magazines, blogs, social media, radio, podcasts, and in-person events.
• Special consideration is given to those promoting cat health studies or results of studies funded by EveryCat.
• Nominations are judged by an expert panel based on quality, accuracy, volume, and alignment with EveryCat’s mission.
