In 2007, a group of concerned individuals formed the 501(c)(3) nonprofit called River Valley Animal Welfare Coalition, now called Friends of Kitties & Kanines, out of the concern for pet overpopulation in the River Valley community. They realized there are 2 main reason people do not spay/neuter their pets. The first reason is due to the high cost. The second reason is having no access to spay/neuter services.

Cats must be indoor-friendly, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and in reasonably good health.
