Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter is the volunteer support organization for the City of Alameda's animal shelter, funding and staffing programmes that help the shelter place cats and dogs from the island community.
Adult cat $98; kitten (6 months and under) $122
Must be at least 18 with valid state ID and allowed to have pets where you live.
Complete a brief adoption questionnaire, then staff help match and introduce you to animals. Most adoptions go home same-day, no appointment required during open hours. Children 12 and under must be present.
