Independent Animal Rescue (Rescue Oasis Animal Rangers) is an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and caring for cats and dogs in need across the Triangle area of North Carolina. Operating entirely through a network of foster homes, the organization provides comprehensive medical care, spay/neuter services, adoptions, and community education to save animal lives.
Applicants must be at least 21 and live within driving distance, typically 60 miles of Durham County. Undergraduate students are not eligible. Applicants must allow a home visit, and existing pets must be spayed or neutered and current on vaccinations and preventive care.
Submit an online adoption application, after which a volunteer confirms processing within 2–3 days. Once approved, the foster parent conducts a meet and greet, checks vet/personal/landlord references, and coordinates a home visit and in-person delivery to finalize the adoption.
