Independent Animal Rescue (Rescue Oasis Animal Rangers) is an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and caring for cats and dogs in need across the Triangle area of North Carolina. Operating entirely through a network of foster homes, the organization provides comprehensive medical care, spay/neuter services, adoptions, and community education to save animal lives.
Rescue Oasis Animal Rangers has adoption fees starting from $100.
Applicants must be at least 21 and live within driving distance, typically 60 miles of Durham County. Undergraduate students are not eligible. Applicants must allow a home visit, and existing pets must be spayed or neutered and current on vaccinations and preventive care.
Submit an online adoption application, after which a volunteer confirms processing within 2–3 days. Once approved, the foster parent conducts a meet and greet, checks vet/personal/landlord references, and coordinates a home visit and in-person delivery to finalize the adoption.
Adoption fees are $125 for cats and kittens ($200 for a pair) and $100 for senior (7+ years) or special needs cats ($150 for a pair), which include spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, vaccinations, combo testing, and deworming.
Adopters must be at least 21 years old, non-undergraduate students, reside within a drivable distance (typically within 60 miles of Durham County), allow a home visit, and have all current household pets spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives.
Kittens aged 6 months and younger must be adopted with another kitten or placed into a home with an existing young cat (generally aged 2 years or younger) for proper socialization.
