Founded in 2022 in memory of a beloved companion animal, The Tucker McGirt Foundation is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization based in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. The foundation rescues and rehomes dogs and cats from high-intake, low-adoption shelters where they are at risk, as well as private surrender situations. Operating primarily through a network of foster homes and partner retail locations, they focus on connecting community resources to place companion animals into permanent homes.

Adopters start by submitting an adoption application questionnaire for a specific pet in foster care. Because adoptable animals find homes quickly, applicants can also email the organization directly to inquire about currently available pets.
The foundation assists with rehoming animals from private home situations where an animal can no longer be cared for.
