A Road Home is an all-volunteer animal rescue based in Southington, Ohio, dedicated to saving and caring for animals in need throughout Trumbull and Mahoning counties. They provide foster-based sheltering, nursery care, and adoption services for domestic cats, kittens, and dogs. Through thoughtful matchmaking and electronic adoption processing, they help each feline companion find a loving, permanent home.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old. Applicants with existing pets must contact their veterinarian to authorize the release of medical records, and personal references will be contacted. Animals cannot be placed on hold.
Interested adopters must submit an online application, which is reviewed in the order received. If approved (typically within 72 hours), a meet and greet is scheduled at a local pet store or near the foster home. Adoptions are processed electronically via phone or laptop at the meet and greet, and adoption paperwork is emailed upon completion. If not adopting immediately at the meet and greet, applicants have up to 24 hours to decide.
If an adopter is unable to care for their adopted animal at any point, the pet must be returned to A Road Home Rescue, with at least a 2-week notice requested so a suitable foster home can be arranged.
