Animal Keeper's Rescue, Inc. is a privately owned non-profit, no-kill cat and kitten shelter originally founded approximately 35 years ago in Acme, Pennsylvania. Now operating primarily as a foster-based network, the rescue provides adoption services and care for abandoned, neglected, and unwanted felines out of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Potential adopters can also meet adoptable cats at Petco kitty condos and weekly adoption events.
Completed adoption application submitted via email; payment in full required to hold an animal for one week.
Adoptions are first-come, first-served. Prospective adopters must submit an email with a fully completed adoption application attached, after which a volunteer will follow up by phone. Cats and kittens are only held if paid in full for up to one week.
Direct drop-offs are strictly prohibited as AKR is foster-home based. Those who have found an abandoned cat or have an intake request must call (724) 423-5571 or email to check for available foster homes, and an appointment will be arranged if space permits.
