Founded in 2019 by passionate volunteers, Furry Tales International Inc is a non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving dogs and cats in need around the world and placing them into permanent homes. Operating as a foster-based rescue, the organization works to prevent pet overpopulation through spaying and neutering while providing medical care and lifetime support for their rescues.
Completion of online adoption application, 20-30 minute phone interview, video chat consultation, virtual video tour of house and yard, reference checks, adoption agreement, adoption fee payment, and daily photos/videos with progress summaries during the 14-day trial period.
Adopters first submit an online adoption application, followed by an application review (1-3 weeks) and a 20-30 minute phone interview. Selected families participate in a 40-60 minute video chat, submit virtual home/yard tour videos, and have references checked. Once approved, adopters pick up the pet (often arriving via JFK Airport for international rescues or direct transfer if local) and begin a mandatory 14-day trial period before adoption is finalized.
If an adopter decides to surrender an animal during the 14-day trial period, the pet is returned to a rescue team member and half of the adoption fee is refunded; outside of the trial, the rescue has limited intake capacity as a foster-based rescue.
