Carnegie, PA
Merlin's Safe Haven Cat Rescue, based in Carnegie, Pennsylvania, was established to provide for the rescue, care, and placement of cats that have been abandoned, neglected, abused, or that can no longer be kept by their previous owners. Cats adopted through the rescue are placed exclusively as indoor family pets, and all are altered and vaccinated prior to adoption. All cats are kept in foster homes, which the rescue says helps its team get to know each cat well enough to help a family make the best decision when adding a new member. Merlin's became an official nonprofit in October 2017.
