Steel City Whisker Rescue (SCWR) is a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit dedicated to the rehabilitation and socialization of feral and stray cats. While many traditional shelters focus on already-socialized cats, SCWR was created to help cats that are often considered unadoptable. Its mission is to show that with time, patience, and structured rehabilitation, many colony and feral cats can learn to trust people and successfully transition into indoor homes. Through individualized care, behavioral evaluation, and gradual socialization, SCWR works to give overlooked cats a second chance at life beyond the streets.
