Casa Verde Cats is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Corpus Christi, Texas, that grew out of one founder's personal experience with trap-neuter-return. After moving into an older house in town, she found the local cat population so out of control that two feral kittens ran inside her home the moment the realtor opened the front door. Over the years, she trapped and had many cats spayed or neutered, and found like-minded friends along the way. In 2020, the group made things official, forming Casa Verde Cats. Their adoption fee is $50, and adopted pets must go home in a carrier; since funding and space are limited, they can only take in new cats when resources allow, so they rely on donations to keep going.
