Rescued Pets Movement Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to saving homeless cats and dogs from municipal shelters in the Greater Houston area, primarily BARC. After providing veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, and temporary foster care, the organization transports pets to vetted rescue partners across the United States and Canada where adoptive homes are waiting. They have saved over 100,000 lives by moving animals from areas of overpopulation to high-demand regions.
RPM does not adopt out animals locally in Houston. Rescued animals are placed into short-term foster care or boarding, receive veterinary treatment, and are transported each week to reputable rescue partners across the country (primarily in Colorado and Illinois) who finalize care and facilitate adoptions.
Rescued Pets Movement is not an intake facility or open-admission shelter and does not accept direct surrenders or stray animals from the public. Pets are pulled directly from local shelters such as BARC.
