HSCC emails eligible foster families when they have a pregnant mother, a litter of puppies or kittens, or an animal needing medical or behavioral support best provided in a home - including medical info, behavior details, and pickup timing.
Food (including prescription diets if needed), bedding, toys, enclosures, and any necessary medications for the full length of the foster stay.
Foster families get first right of adoption - just let HSCC know you are interested and pay the standard adoption fee for that animal.
Email rehome@hsccvt.org for rehoming and surrender assistance. HSCC also runs a Surrender Prevention program (Community Pet Clinic, Rainy Day emergency medical fund, Pet Helpline, and a Good Neighbor temporary-care program) to help keep pets with their families when possible.
