SCAC works with property owners and community-cat caretakers to trap, spay/neuter, and vaccinate cats, then place them as working cats in barns and similar spaces - improving their health and safety while preventing overpopulation.
Bring in a nursing mother cat and her litter, and SCAC houses and cares for the whole family until the kittens are weaned. SCAC then spays and vaccinates the mom and returns her to your home, while the kittens are prepared for adoption.
Surrender is by donation - no fixed fee. Call (802) 375-2898 to discuss intake. SCAC also runs a Spay-the-Mom program: bring in a nursing mother and litter, and SCAC houses and cares for them until the kittens are weaned, then spays/vaccinates the mom and returns her home while the kittens are prepared for adoption.
