A Tail To Be Told Animal Rescue is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) foster-based rescue dedicated to rescuing homeless, abandoned, and high-kill shelter animals between Fredericksburg and Richmond, Virginia. They provide loving foster care and adoption placement primarily for cats and kittens, while also assisting the community with Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs for community cats. In addition to appointment-based visits, they showcase adoptable cats through local PetSmart adoption condos and adoption events.
Kittens (under 1 year): $175 for 1, $250 for 2 ($75 each additional); Adult cats (over 1 year): $150 ($25 each additional adult); Seniors (8+ years): $100; Special needs: per-case basis
Completion of an adoption application with lifestyle/work schedule details, vet reference checks (if applicable), personal reference checks, agreement to a potential home visit, and signing an adoption contract.
1. Submit a completed Adoption Application via email to atailtobetold@gmail.com. 2. Application review takes 1-2 days, including calling personal references and your veterinarian. 3. Once approved, arrange a meeting with the cat/kitten. The rescue reserves the right to conduct a home visit, finalize the adoption contract, transfer medical records, and collect fees. Approved applications remain valid for 30 days.
The rescue is currently filled to capacity and is not accepting any new cats or kittens into the rescue at this time.
