Adoptions are conducted in person on a first-come, first-served basis. Prospective adopters can browse available pets online, download and complete the adoption application for cats, and bring it to the shelter or email it to pets@sumnerwa.gov. Following an application review and an in-person meet-and-greet, adopters finalize paperwork and pay adoption fees. Most adoptions can be completed the same day, though new adoptions will not start within 30 minutes of closing.
