Founded in 2018, Journey Home Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The rescue cares for homeless cats and dogs through foster homes and community partnerships, including housing adoptable cats at the local Grand Forks PetSmart, while promoting spay/neuter initiatives across North Dakota, Minnesota, and neighboring regions.
All applicants must be at least 18 years old. All resident pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations (unless medically exempted by a veterinarian). Adopted pets must live as indoor family pets (evaluated barn cats excepted). Adopters renting must have landlord permission, and out-of-area adopters must travel to Grand Forks, ND for pickup without flying animals as cargo.
Prospective adopters must submit an online adoption application. Once approved, the Adoption Coordinator coordinates meet-and-greets. Approved applications remain valid on file for one year.
Owners needing to surrender a pet or report an animal in need should email details, photos, personality descriptions, and background information to info@journeyhomeanimalrescue.org. Assistance is subject to foster availability.
