Kitten Rescue of Mason County, founded in 1999, began as a small group of volunteers determined to help abandoned cats and kittens at a time when Mason County, Washington had no resources for them. Today, it remains the only physical shelter in Mason County devoted exclusively to cats and kittens, and it operates as a no-kill, locally founded, donor-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving 11 townships within the county. The shelter is open daily from 8 AM to 12 PM. Prospective adopters can view available cats and kittens and complete an adoption application, and renters must have their landlord's permission to keep a pet in the residence. Donations and foster applications can be submitted through the organization's website.
