Pawsitive Outreach Spay/Neuter Advocates (POSNA) is a 501(c)(3) no-kill organization dedicated to providing affordable spay and neuter assistance to low-income pet owners, community cats, and strays. Operating a dedicated cat shelter facility and a network of volunteer foster homes, they rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome cats, kittens, and barn cats. Their services assist animals across Pend Oreille, Bonner, and North Spokane counties.
Applicants must complete an adoption form including household details, housing status (landlord approval if renting), existing pet history with veterinary references verifying spay/neuter and vaccination status, and personal references. Kittens are not adopted out under 8 weeks of age or prior to being spayed/neutered.
Interested adopters must first submit an online adoption application. Because visits and meet-and-greets at the shelter or foster homes are conducted by appointment only, applications must be reviewed and approved prior to scheduling a visit. Applications are evaluated based on the best fit for each animal rather than on a first-come, first-served basis.
