Adopting

Fees, requirements & process

Requirements

Applicants must complete an adoption form including household details, housing status (landlord approval if renting), existing pet history with veterinary references verifying spay/neuter and vaccination status, and personal references. Kittens are not adopted out under 8 weeks of age or prior to being spayed/neutered.

How it works

Interested adopters must first submit an online adoption application. Because visits and meet-and-greets at the shelter or foster homes are conducted by appointment only, applications must be reviewed and approved prior to scheduling a visit. Applications are evaluated based on the best fit for each animal rather than on a first-come, first-served basis.
